For Gurung’s Fall 2013 RTW collection, he decided to go a
very military route, which is always a great trend. The show began with olive green military
jackets with deep peplums, matching cargo pants, fur collars, strong belts, and
harnesses attached to the models. We
then move on to the midnight blue section of the collection. Here he brings us shimmery sateen dresses
that look as if they could just slide off at any moment.
Gurung also shows us a few all-leather pieces
too that really make a statement. He
ends his Fall collection with some white and black pieces, that incorporate a
few Asian-inspired prints. These pieces
were a little lacklustre and did not show the same strength that was very much
present in the first-half of the show.
However, he did still have some killer shoes, especially the gold ones
that looked as though they were made from sheets of metal, and my favourites,
the thigh-high boots that were laced-up, belted, and slit throughout.
